Sunday Best

Sunday Best is an ongoing project that documents and preserves a rapidly dwindling group of proud women who have grown up in a church-going, hat-wearing culture. All of those who generously opened their doors to me revealed their collections of hat boxes stacked high in closets and basements, filled with ornate treasures. Sadly, this tradition is coming to an end as growing daughters are choosing not to pick up the hat pin, so to speak. It has been an honor to meet and capture the beauty of women so strong in faith, family and tradition.
